Is it a carrot or is it a cucumber? A show for the super-little to savour
How does the world look to the very young? Is it round or square? Orange or blue? Perhaps even soft, yellow, oval AND hollow! In this internationally applauded production, three Lithuanian dancers return to the world of the under-threes. Based on the concept that colours and shapes help build cognition, the performers use brightly hued geometric shapes to form puzzles and simple objects such as fruit and vegetables. At the same time, they demonstrate to the early-life audience how familiar movements and skills at different stages of development – crawling and rolling, tumbling and toddling, galloping and running – can be turned into an artistic experience. With musical accompaniment masterfully composed to make youngsters feel at home, children can later join in the playful scenes on stage.
Founded in 2007, Dansema Dance Theater is the first professional group in Lithuania to create performances specifically for babies. Since debuting in 2012, Puzzle has earned critical acclaim and toured the world. A jaunty and perceptive treat!
