A feast for the eyes and the mind ─ Edinburgh Festivals Magazine, UK
Astonishing visuals and surreal adventures as oddball brothers head for outer space
All aboard for another planet, as quirky Sam and Junior bid farewell to their mother, hop on a “vintage” spaceship and embark on a madcap journey across the galaxy. As weird and wonderful worlds unfold, an ensemble of extra-terrestrials, including the scary toothed critter and mighty star spider, are on hand to give them a fright. With their wacky, lo-fi weaponry and talent for embracing the absurd, will the shadow puppet brothers prevail and find a new home among the stars?
Vividly imaginative and wickedly funny, director/writer Jeff Achtem and puppeteer Hamish Fletcher create an innovative alternative universe out of household junk. Audience members may also be repurposed to become part of the alien landscape! Going down a storm in Hong Kong in 2015, Bunk Puppets’ latest appearance is all set to provide another uproarious and thought-provoking encounter.
